Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Member Share Agreement
By signing up for a CSA share I am agreeing to the following terms:
- I am buying a weekly portion of the farm’s harvest in advance, and entering into a relationship with Natural Roots Farm for the duration of the CSA season.
- I understand that my investment before the beginning of the season directly supports the farm by providing much-needed capital for the anticipated costs of seeds, supplies, etc. at a time when the farm needs it most.I agree to pay for my share in full by the designated deadline.
- I understand that in signing up for a share of the harvest I am agreeing to share both the potential bounty and the potential risk, which are an inherent part of farming, with the farmers and other CSA members. If the farm experiences poor growing conditions, which limit crop yields, I understand that I will not be refunded for my share.
- If signing up for a low-income share, I agree to provide the additional paperwork and membership agreement forms in a timely manner, before the start of the CSA season.
- I understand it is my responsibility to pick up my share during one of the CSA distribution times each week (Tuesday and Friday 3 to 6:30). If I am unable to pick up my share, I will ask a friend or neighbor to collect my share for me. If my share is not picked up, I forfeit the share for that week.
- I agree to follow the farm guidelines in the CSA Member Handbook while on the property to keep myself, other members, the farmers, the workhorses, and other animals safe. This includes details around you-pick crops, parking, dogs, inclement weather, and other safety precautions. These guidelines are available on the website and in the CSA barn, and it is my responsibility to read and understand them.
- By signing this Agreement, I (the CSA Member) hereby release, indemnify and agree to hold harmless the Farm, its agents and employees from any and all claims and/or liability from being on the Natural Roots Farm property, from the purchase of a CSA membership or the use or consumption of food provided by the Farm.
In return we, the farmers, promise to do our best to provide a full share every week of the designated growing season, using thoughtful and comprehensive land stewardship and organic growing practices. The quantity of produce, and specific limits to certain crops, will inevitably vary from week to week and season to season. In times of bounty, we will also share that reward with our members by providing out of the bag items, or opportunities for bulk crops.
Thank you so much for your support towards a successful growing season and a successful farm!
