A Re-Envisioned Winter Share

After taking a year off due to flooding and crop losses in 2023, we are excited to announce that we will resume offering a winter share for 2024/2025. This year, we are going to be doing things a bit differently - The share will be comprised of our own root vegetables as well as vegetables from other local organic farms. Each pick up will also include salad greens and bunched greens for the first time. The share will still include an initial box of winter squash / sweet potatoes and garlic.

Because we are not exclusively relying on our own crops, we will not have to cap our membership size - hooray! We know so many of you have wished to get a winter share in the past, only to discover we had already sold out of spots.

The deadline for Winter Share sign-ups has passed, but we can discount the cost of a share for you mid-season to reflect when you start. Please send us an email if you would like to join!

 Full Winter Share :

120 pounds of root vegetables, 20 heads of garlic, plus salad greens and bunched greens.

1 inital squash / sweet potato box (30 lbs) plus and additional 1.5 pounds of garlic.

Sustainer, $625 - Standard, $500 - Low Income, $440

Half Winter Share:

60 pounds of root vegetables, 20 heads of garlic, plus salad greens and bunched greens.

1 inital squash / sweet potato box (15 lbs) plus an additional 3/4 pounds of garlic.

Sustainer, $395 - Standard, $315 - Low Income, $275

How It Works

Winter Share is a 20 week season, beginning in mid-late November and wrapping up by the end of April. Pickup times are flexible – you can come 10 times, any time on any day during each 2 week pick up window as your schedule and driving conditions permit, though we suggest trying to set a schedule for yourself ahead of time, coming every other week.

Each bi-weekly pick-up window will include either 12 or 6 pounds of roots vegetables, 2 heads of garlic, 1 bag of salad greens, and some type of bunched green.

The share will be distributed out of the walk-in cooler attached to our CSA barn, which keeps storage veggies snug and cozy through the winter. The squash, sweet potatoes and some garlic will come as a one-time initial distribution in early November, for you to store in your own home (they do better in a cool closet than in a high humidity cooler) and the rest will be available here at your convienence.

Pricing

We are to committed to providing transparency to our members, and work towards pricing that reliably covers our costs each year. In considering ways to sustainably address our budget challenges, we use a tiered model of CSA share pricing, which we explain in more detail here. A initial $100 deposit is required to reserve a share (unless you plan to pay with SNAP/HIP) and payments in full are appreciated.

Please head to our CSA Membership Agreement page before signing up, and check out our Winter Share Instructions page for more information on how the share works!
