Winter Shares for 2020/2021 sold out in 1 day!

Thank you all much for your incredible support.

Full share - $260 (Low-income full share - $210)

Half Share - $140 (Low-income half-share - $115)

We are pleased to offer the option of a winter share at Natural Roots, which means we’ll now be able to feed you for an additional 5 months of the year! Winter share distributions are every other week, (10 pickups in all) beginning in mid-late November and wrapping up by the end of April. Pickup times are flexible – you can come any time on any day during the pickup weeks as your schedule and driving conditions permit, though we suggest trying to set a schedule for yourself ahead of time, perhaps even sticking to the regular season share times if you're able to. The squash & sweet potatoes will come as a one-time initial distribution for you to store in your own home, and the rest will be available here throughout the winter. The share will be distributed out of the walk-in cooler attached to our CSA barn, which keeps storage veggies snug and cozy through the winter.

The bi-weekly share includes: Winter Squash & Sweet Potatoes (30 lbs total for full shares, or 15 lbs. for half shares, distributed up front), plus 12 lbs per week for full shares and 6 lbs. per week for half shares of a mix of Cabbages, Carrots, Potatoes, Onions, Garlic, Beets, Celeriac, Parsnips, Turnips, Rutabaga, and Watermelon Radishes, plus an occasional bag of Popcorn. Greens will generally not be included, but will sometimes be available in the retail cooler for sale. As with our regular season share, some items may be limited, and there is also an overall poundage limit, but you should be able to customize the share to meet your needs. Please let us know if you have particular needs.

Our intent is that a Full Share member will come away with about 150 lbs. of food over the course of the winter, and Half Share members would get about 75 lbs. Roots will be either dry-brushed or washed, depending what they are, so they'll be relatively clean, just like what you're used to seeing here.

"This farm, and the spirit at work at it, are an essential part of our groundedness, our life and health, our joy. We thank you every day as we gather at table."
